Father holding baby

Oh, that wonderful term that your often hear from a tired parent ‘of oh I have a colicky baby’.  Through my experience of working with lots of tiny newborns I actually don’t believe colic really exists – I have not as of yet had a baby with it.  What I actually think happens is there is some discomfort due to other reasons.

These could be:

  • Baby is hungry

  • Baby has wind – often this is the case

  • Overtired

  • Tongue tie – if baby has a tongue tie this can cause issues with feeding and actually they cannot properly latch and they take in more air causes lots of wind

  • Too much foremilk when breastfeeding

  • Allergy

  • Reflux

I suggest with all of my families to also go and see a cranial osteopath. They can do wonders with your little one and even if they do not have any of the above issues, definitely go.
